Early Childhood Education Center
Opened in the fall of 1999, St. Vincent's Early Childhood Education Center is a licensed, Catholic preschool that accepts children of all faiths. We are dedicated to the development of the whole child (from six weeks up until kindergarten). Our low ratio of child to teacher allows us to meet individual needs of children in a group setting. We create learning within a system of care based on mutual relationships between the teachers and the families.
St. Vincent's Early Childhood Education Center is open Monday - Thursday 7:30 am - 5:30 pm and on Friday 7:30 am - 3:00 pm.
A nutritious breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack are provided for infants (12 months and older), toddlers, and preschoolers.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
St. Vincent's Early Childhood Education Center strives to create an environment that fosters self-confidence, self-worth, self-discovery, and self-discipline while allowing children to become secure and feel safe in the world God has created for them. We respect each child as a unique, capable, and competent learner. Our curriculum promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, creative, physical, and spiritual growth of each child. We value individual children’s differences and respond to their particular needs.
St. Vincent's Early Childhood Education Center advances a positive sense of self for each child by accepting and appreciating all children for who they are. A healthy self concept is the foundation for future growth and essential for becoming a self-motivated, independent learner.
We believe young children learn best through self-initiated activity with concrete objects. Through social interactions with their peers, children learn to understand another’s point of view and develop empathy. When children are active in their own learning, they make sense of the world for themselves and become independent thinkers. Being autonomous, having choices, and making decisions, children learn to be responsible for their own learning. Our goal is to create an environment of mutual respect where children can experience a healthy and diverse learning environment.
