Classroom Expansion Project at St. Vincent’s School – 1947

This color, silent film offers a glimpse into the campus expansion at St. Vincent’s in 1947. It chronicles the construction of new classroom buildings, from the initial demolition of old structures to the installation of the new ones. The film captures the excitement and anticipation of the project, featuring the Daughters of Charity and St. Vincent’s School students as they observe the construction process firsthand. The film begins with footage of a truck moving a large building down a road to St. Vincent’s School. The film then shows the school children watching the movement of the building, and placement of the foundations.
