“Maria” remembers walking into the Father Virgil Cordano Center eight months pregnant and sleeping in her car. Overwhelmed and out of options, she felt as if every door had been closed, until she found St. Vincent’s. Within weeks, she entered our Family Strengthening Program, where she received safe housing, counseling, parenting support, career guidance, and something even more powerful: belief in her potential.

Today, Maria is studying accounting, preparing for job interviews, and watching her young son thrive. This fall, he will begin preschool at St. Vincent’s Children’s Center which is just steps from their cottage on campus.

Stories like Maria’s are made possible through the generosity of people like you. For 167 years, St. Vincent’s has walked alongside Santa Barbara’s most vulnerable neighbors, offering stability, dignity, and hope. Every day, more than 600 individuals come to our campus for life-changing support through programs such as:

• Early Childhood Education, giving children the foundation they need to succeed
• The Family Strengthening Program, providing transitional housing, job training, therapy, childcare, and the healing Legacy Garden
• The Father Virgil Cordano Center, offering meals, showers, laundry, technology access, and compassionate care for our unhoused community members
