Sr. Margaret Louise Brown joined St. Vincent’s in December 2019 where she serves part-time as Assistant to the President for Government Relations. She comes to St. Vincent’s from the Daughters of Charity Provincial Offices in the San Francisco Bay Area and serves as the Province’s Director of Social Justice and Environmental Advocacy.

As a Daughter of Charity, she has previously served as President of Life Sharing Center, Inc. and Executive Director of St. Jude Food Bank serving those on the Navajo and Hopi Reservations in Northern Arizona. She also served as Patient Advocate at St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood, CA.

Prior to joining the Daughters of Charity, Sr. Margaret Louise Brown had over 32 years’ experience in Finance, Investments, Economic Development and Organizational Development. A 6th generation Californian, this is her first time living in Santa Barbara. As a lover of the outdoors, she is looking forward to enjoying all that Santa Barbara and the Central Coast have to offer.
