Florence A. Berger, JD
Director of the Family Strengthening Program
Juris Doctor, University of the District of Columbia, David A. Clarke School of Law, Washington, D.C.
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, University of Hawaii at Manoa, Honolulu, HI.
Florence Berger first joined St. Vincent’s as a Case Manager and Legal Liaison for the Family Strengthening Program in June 2015 before becoming the Director of the Family Strengthening Program in July 2022. Prior to her time at the FSP, Florence (“Flo”) worked as an Assistant District Attorney in New Mexico where she prosecuted domestic violence, child abuse, and animal cruelty crimes. As a fervent advocate for those in need, Flo has dedicated her entire career to public service.
As Director, Flo is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring all aspects of St. Vincent’s Family Strengthening Program, a long-term transitional housing program for women and children. She oversees a talented staff of four that work with up to 70 women and children annually. Flo’s work helps these women and their children leave multi-generational cycles of poverty, abuse, homelessness, and sometimes addiction to begin a life of economic and emotional stability.
When not supporting the women and children in the Family Strengthening Program, you can find Flo spending time with family and friends or at the beach with her two dogs.
