Our Mission Statement
St. Vincent’s seeks to break the cycle of poverty, violence, and abuse for the most vulnerable and needy of Santa Barbara County. Through educational and personal growth opportunities, we are committed to helping our sisters and brothers who are poor realize their full potential as children of God with dignity and respect.
Living Our Mission
St. Vincent’s lives out its mission through two distinct programs: PATHS and Casa Alegria Children’s Center. St. Vincent’s PATHS program provides transitional housing and services for single mothers who are on welfare or whose incomes are below poverty level. Casa Alegria Children’s Center provides affordable, quality childcare services to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers of working parents.
In both of these programs, St. Vincent’s fosters hope and a sense of dignity and personal worth in a safe and nurturing environment. Each person is encouraged to develop the necessary skills to lead a productive and full life.
St. Vincent's Gardens and Villa Caridad, the Affordable Housing Project, provides housing and expanded services to low-income families and low-income seniors age 62 and over.
